DESCRIPTION
Partnerská organizácia Leb Relief sa sústreďuje na skvalitňovanie životného prostredia, zvyšovanie kapacít mladých nezamestnaných ľudí v technických odboroch a integrovanú podporu cieľových komunít chudobných libanonských a utečeneckých rodín v lokalitách Akkar, Tripolis a Bejrút. Organizácia je etablovaným národným aktérom v sektore zamestnávania, technického odborného vzdelávania, inštalačných a poľnohospodárskych projektoch a v sektore hygieny, vody a sanitácie (WASH). Leb Relief má veľmi dobré vzťahy s miestnymi autoritami a figuruje v národných plánoch krízových intervencií ako jeden z humanitárnych partnerov. V Bejrúte sídli taktiež pobočka organizácie Človek v ohrození, People in Need Lebanon, ktorá s Leb Relief zároveň pripravuje nový SlovakAid projekt v meste Tripolis. Organizácie sú preto aktuálne v úzkom kontakte pri zhodnocovaní potrieb, plánovaní spoločných aktivít a nadviazali veľmi dobré a priateľské vzťahy. Obe organizácie veľmi privítajú pôsobenie dobrovoľníka / dobrovoľníčky SlovakAid pre posilnenie spolupráce medzi libanonskou a slovenskou stranou v poskytovaní pomoci v Bejrúte. Dobrovoľník / dobrovoľníčka bude podporovať budovanie povedomia a získa cenné skúsenosti pre rozvojový a humanitárny sektor na Slovensku. Jeho/jej miestom pôsobenia bude Bejrút, ktorý je v aktuálnej situácii stabilnou časťou Libanonu, a bude mať podporu etablovanej miestnej organizácie Leb Relief a podporu Človek v ohrození a People in Need Lebanon. Dobrovoľník / dobrovoľníčka podporovaný /-á miestnou pobočkou People in Need Lebanon v spolupráci s partnerskou organizáciou Leb Relief, sa bude v Bejrúte venovať nasledovným činnostiam: Podporovať tím organizácie Leb Relief pri koordinácii opravných prác a inštalácie vybavenia pre malé podniky postihnuté výbuchom v Bejrúte a hospodárskou krízou. Podpora komunikácie organizácie Leb Relief a PIN LBN a podpora koordinácie s ostatnými aktérmi a OSN. Podpora budovania kapacít partnerskej organizácie v oblasti projektového riadenia, projektového cyklu a hľadania nových možností financovania. Okrem vyššie uvedených úloh bude dobrovoľník/-čka podporovať ďalšie administratívne, organizačné a prezentačné činnosti (napríklad zostavovanie dokumentácie, monitorovanie a reportovanie aktivít). Propagácia dobrovoľníctva a zvyšovanie povedomia slovenskej verejnosti o SlovakAid a slovenskej humanitárnej pomoci a rozvojovej pomoci v Libanone.
The partner organization Leb Relief focuses on improving environment, increasing the capacity of young unemployed people in technical fields and integrated support for the target communities of impoverished Lebanese and refugee families in Akkar, Tripoli and Beirut. The organization is an established national player in the sector of employment, technical training, installation and agricultural projects and in the sector of hygiene, water and sanitation (WASH). Leb Relief has very good relations with local authorities and is one of the humanitarian partners in national crisis intervention plans. Following the Beirut explosion, Leb Relief strengthened its team with dozens of new employees addressing the needs of the poorest families affected by the explosion. Leb Relief's activities in Beirut consist of reconstructions and provision of equipment for small shops and businesses that would not be able to resume their operations without assistance. In terms of capacity building and training, Leb Relief is carrying out reconstruction and plumbing work in Beirut by employing young unemployed people from local communities who, thanks to their experience, accredited certificate (technical vocational training) and work contacts, can better integrate into the labor market or start their own business. Leb Relief also provides psychosocial assistance and addresses the urgent needs of target communities, implement preventive mechanisms during the pandemic and pursues a multisectoral humanitarian approach. Beirut is also the home to People in Need Lebanon, a branch of People in Need Slovakia, which, together with Leb Relief, is preparing a new SlovakAid project in Tripoli. The organizations are therefore in close contact in assessing needs, planning joint activities and have already established very good and friendly relations. Both organizations will very much welcome the work of the SlovakAid volunteer to strengthen cooperation between the Lebanese and Slovak parties in providing assistance in Beirut. The volunteer will support awareness raising and will gain valuable experience for the development and humanitarian sector in Slovakia. The volunteer will be based in Beirut, which is a stable place, and will have the support of the established local organization Leb Relief, as well as People in Need Slovakia and People in Need Lebanon. The volunteer, supported by the local People in Need Lebanon branch in cooperation with the partner organization Leb Relief, will be based in Beirut and will focus on the following activities: Support Leb Relief’s team in coordinating of repair works and equipment to small businessess affected by the Beirut Blast and the economic crisis. Support Leb Relief and People in Need Lebanon in conducting needs assessments, surveys and monitoring results of activities. Support communication of Leb Relief and People in Need Lebanon and coordination with other stakeholders and the UN. Support of capacity building of partner organisation in project management, project cycle and in search for new funding opportunities. Apart from the above mentioned tasks, the volutneer will support other administrative, organisational and presentational activities (such as compilation of documentation, reporting of activities). Promote volunteering and raise awareness of Slovak public on the topic of humanitarian relief and development assistance.
