Le projet vise à améliorer les conditions de vie des femmes et des hommes des communautés rurales membres de coopératives forestières au Moyen Atlas et au Plateau Oriental du Maroc. Le projet cible particulièrement les femmes membres des coopératives de romarin et de cèdre. Le projet vise à améliorer les conditions de vie de 10 000 bénéficiaires directs et indirects des communautés vulnérables rurales qui sont membres de dix coopératives forestières. Le projet a pour but d’améliorer la performance des coopératives forestières de travail à générer des emplois décents et durables, dont au moins 2 000 pour les femmes, en soutenant des activités de gestion et de transformation durables du romarin et du cèdre. Le projet soutient également ces coopératives dans la diversification de leurs activités économiques et dans la création et l’amélioration de services durables répondant aux besoins différenciés de leurs membres. Les activités du projet comprennent: 1) mettre en œuvre un programme de sensibilisation diffusé aux femmes et hommes membres sur l’importance et les bénéfices de rapports égalitaires au sein du ménage; 2) offrir un programme de formation champs écoles réalisé particulièrement auprès des femmes sur les opérations d’aménagement durable du cèdre et du romarin; 3) fournir un programme de formation diffusé aux personnes élues et gestionnaires sur la participation égalitaire des femmes au sein des coopératives; 4) fournir un appui et des conseils aux personnes élues sur l’élaboration de plans d’affaires et de financement des coopératives; 5) réaliser des analyses technico-économiques effectuées avec le Département des Eaux et Forêts du Maroc sur les possibilités commerciales au profit des coopératives forestières.
The project aims to improve the living conditions of women and men in rural communities who are members of forestry cooperatives in the Middle Atlas and the Eastern Plateau of Morocco. The project targets women members of rosemary and cedar cooperatives, in particular. The project aims to improve the well-being of 10,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries belonging to vulnerable rural communities, members of ten forestry cooperatives. The project aims to improve the performance of forestry cooperatives to create and sustain decent jobs, including at least 2,000 jobs for women, by supporting sustainable management and processing of rosemary and cedar. Furthermore, the project supports these cooperatives in the diversification of their economic activities and in the creation and improvement of sustainable services that meet the differentiated needs of their members. Project activities include: (1) rolling-out an awareness program for the beneficiaries on the importance and benefits of egalitarian relationships within the household; (2) offering a field-school training program aimed particularly at women on sustainable management operations for cedar and rosemary; (3) providng a training program to elected officials and managers on the equal participation of women in cooperatives; (4) providing support and advice to elected officials on the development of business plans and cooperative financing; and (5) carrying out technical and economic analyzes with the Department of Water and Forests of Morocco on the commercial potential of forestry cooperatives.

Les résultats escomptés de ce projet comprennent : 1) autonomisation renforcée des femmes bénéficiaires en tenant compte des changements climatiques et de la viabilité environnementale; 2) amélioration de la performance des coopératives forestières appuyées à maintenir et générer des services et des emplois décents et durables, particulièrement pour les femmes rurales; 3) renforcement des pratiques des parties prenantes étatiques marocaines favorisant le développement économique durable, égalitaire et inclusif des coopératives forestières.
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) empowerment of women in supported rural communities taking into account climate change and environmental sustainability; (2) improved performance of the supported cooperatives in maintaining and generating decent and sustainable services and jobs, particularly for rural women; and (3) strengthened the capacity of Moroccan public stakeholders in promoting sustainable, egalitarian and inclusive economic development of forestry cooperatives.

Parmi les résultats obtenus jusqu'en mars 2025 : 1) une manifestation d’impact durable des formations et d’actions de sensibilisation via la participation accrue des femmes aux décisions économiques. 83 % des femmes ayant suivi les sessions de formation déclarent participer activement aux décisions économiques au sein de leur ménage. Par ailleurs, 857 personnes, dont 462 femmes, se sont inscrites aux formations des Champs École SOCODEVI; 2) une consolidation des acquis de 432 membres de coopératives, dont 232 femmes sur l’importance et les bénéfices de rapports égalitaires au sein du ménage, notamment sur la répartition équitable des tâches domestiques, les masculinités positives, les violences basées sur le genre, et sur les opérations d’aménagement durable et de conditionnement du cèdre et du romarin; 3) une formation des membres de 5 coopératives et 2 unions (68 membres, dont 10 femmes) sur l’Approche PerformCoop; 4) une réalisation de 3 plans d’affaires pour 3 coopératives modèles du romarin et un en cours pour la coopérative du cèdre; 5) la participation de 55 femmes à un programme d’alphabétisation; 6) la réalisation de 7 analyses d’égalité des genres d’investissement pour les différents projets conçus au profit des coopératives bénéficiaires du projet.?
Results achieved as of March 2025 include: (1) demonstrated lasting impact from training and awareness-raising activities through increased participation of women in economic decision-making. 83% of women who attended the training sessions report actively participating in economic decisions within their households. Additionally, 857 people, including 462 women, enrolled in SOCODEVI’s Farmer Field School trainings; (2) consolidated gains for 432 cooperative members, including 232 women, on the importance and benefits of equitable relationships within the household, particularly regarding fair distribution of domestic tasks, positive masculinities, gender-based violence, and sustainable harvesting and processing operations for cedar and rosemary; (3) trained members from 5 cooperatives and 2 unions (68 members, including 10 women) on the PerformCoop Approach; (4) developed 3 business plans for 3 model rosemary cooperatives, and one in progress for the cedar cooperative; (5) supported the participation of 55 women in a literacy program; and (6) completed 7 gender equality investment analyses for various projects designed to benefit the cooperatives supported by the project.
