1. Aprobada en el Consejo de Gobernación la Estrategia de Desarrollo Provincial hasta el 2030, con el acompañamiento de la Universidad de Guantánamo
2. Tres gobiernos municipales adicionales tienen sus Estrategias de Desarrollo Municipal aprobadas y en proceso de implementación. Municipios: Imías, San Antonio del Sur y Maisí.
Aprobadas 3 Estrategias de Desarrollo Municipales de los municipios: San Antonio del Sur, Imías y Baracoa. Se continúa trabajando con la Universidad y los Centros Universitarios Municipales (CUM) en el diseño de las EDM en los 7 municipios restantes con énfasis en Maisí, El Salvador y Yateras, por tener bajo índice económico sintético y baja capacidad potencial para su desarrollo.
3. Dos iniciativas apoyadas por PADIT se complementan con financiamiento del Fondo de Contravalor de Italia: Taller de Carpintería en el municipio Baracoa y el Centro de Gestión Integrada de Proyectos y del Riesgo de Desastres para el Desarrollo Sostenible de la Región Oriental de Cuba (GIPORD + DS).
4. En diseño 9 nuevos proyectos de desarrollo económico local (3 en el municipio Baracoa y otros 6 en el resto de la provincia) dirigidos a la creación de centros turísticos locales, el desarrollo de minindustrias, el fortalecimiento de actividades de la industria local asociada a derivados de la cal y la producción local de materiales de la construcción. Se trabaja con las empresas del sistema de la agricultura y el MINTUR en los encadenamientos de las actividades productivas y de servicios del territorio, además con entidades como cultura, educación, deportes, el CITMA.
5. Impartición de módulos sobre Desarrollo Local, Gestión Integrada de Proyectos, Gestión de Riesgos para el desarrollo, Gestión del Conocimiento y la Innovación entre otros; en la Formación Académica de 121 profesionales de la provincia. 3. 31 proyectos desarrollo local financiados por la colaboración internacional con un plan de 20 millones USD y énfasis en producción de alimentos.
4. 25 proyectos de desarrollo local se implementan en 6 municipios articulados con sus EDM. De ellos el 40 % está destinado a la producción, transformación y comercialización de alimentos.
5. De conjunto con el MINCEX diseñado el Mapa de Exportaciones de Cuba, una herramienta digital para promocionar internacionalmente lo hecho en Cuba. Además se acompaña al Departamento de Comercio Exterior en el diseño de las Estrategias de exportación de los municipios y la provincia. |

Consistent with the Article III of the SBAA [or the Supplemental Provisions to the Project Document], the responsibility for the safety and security of the Implementing Partner and its personnel and property, and of UNDP’s property in the Implementing Partner’s custody, rests with the Implementing Partner.
