March 2025 - The International Committee of the Red Cross' (ICRC) primary mission is to protect the lives and dignity of people affected by armed conflicts and other situations of violence. The ICRC assists and works to prevent further suffering by promoting and strengthening international humanitarian law. The ICRC collaborates with local Red Cross and Red Crescent national society staff and volunteers to implement its protection and assistance programmes worldwide. With GAC and other donors’ support, the ICRC’s humanitarian operations aim to provide protection, emergency relief, and other essential services to people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. This includes in Syria, West Bank and Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen. Project activities include: (1) engaging with warring parties on the respect for international humanitarian law; (2) conducting protection activities to support those protected under international humanitarian law; (3) assisting people affected by conflict and violence by providing medical care, income support, and food assistance; (4) working and abiding by the fundamental principles such as neutrality, impartiality, and independence, with all stakeholders; and (5) negotiating safe access to populations in need.
Mars 2025 - La principale mission du Comité international de la Croix-Rouge (CICR) est de protéger la vie et la dignité des personnes touchées par des conflits armés et d'autres situations de violence. Le CICR apporte son aide et s'efforce de prévenir de nouvelles souffrances en promouvant et en renforçant le droit international humanitaire. Le CICR collabore avec le personnel et les volontaires des sociétés nationales de la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant-Rouge pour mettre en œuvre ses programmes de protection et d'assistance dans le monde entier. Avec le soutien du AMC et d'autres donateurs, les opérations humanitaires du CICR visent à fournir une protection, des secours d'urgence et d'autres services essentiels aux personnes touchées par des conflits armés et d'autres situations de violence. Les pays concernés sont notamment la Syrie, la Cisjordanie, Gaza, et le Yémen. Elle cherche également à promouvoir le respect du droit international humanitaire. Material relief assistance and servicesShelter, water, sanitation, education, health services including supply of medicines and malnutrition management, including medical nutrition management; supply of other nonfood relief items (including cash and voucher delivery modalities) for the benefit of crisisaffected people, including refugees and internally displaced people in developing countries, Includes assistance delivered by or coordinated by international civil protection units in the immediate aftermath of a disaster (in-kind assistance, deployment of specially-equipped teams, logistics and transportation, or assessment and coordination by experts sent to the field). Also includes measures to promote and protect the safety, well-being, dignity and integrity of crisis-affected people including refugees and internally displaced persons in developing countries. (Activities designed to protect the security of persons or properties through the use or display of force are not reportable as ODA.)

Les résultats attendus de ce projet comprennent : 1) une meilleure connaissance du droit international humanitaire par les porteurs d'armes; 2) la prise en charge des besoins de protection des populations vulnérables, notamment les civils, les détenus, les otages, les disparus et leurs familles, les enfants séparés par les conflits et les victimes de violences sexuelles; 3) le soutien aux civils touchés par les conflits armés par le biais d'une assistance pertinente telle que la nourriture, les services de santé, le soutien aux moyens de subsistance et d'autres services essentiels; 4) le renforcement des capacités opérationnelles des sociétés nationales de la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant-Rouge. Le résultat final attendu est de sauver des vies, d'alléger les souffrances et de préserver la dignité humaine dans les pays confrontés aux crises humanitaires dues aux conflits armés.
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased international humanitarian law knowledge of weapons bearers; (2) attended to vulnerable population’s protection needs including civilians, detainees, hostages, missing and their families, children separated by conflicts and victims of sexual violence; (3) supported civilians affected by armed conflicts with relevant assistance such as food, health services, livelihood support, and other essential services; and (4) increased operational capacities of the Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies. The expected ultimate outcome is lives saved, suffering alleviated, and human dignity maintained in countries experiencing humanitarian crises due to armed conflict.
