Grâce à cette subvention, deux ateliers seront organisés pour au moins 125 enseignants. Le ministère mobilisera des ressources pour la formation continue des enseignants en utilisant le plan et les programmes de formation développés. Cela devrait permettre d'améliorer la qualité de la formation, la qualité des résultats des élèves et, en fin de compte, d'améliorer l'employabilité et les compétences entrepreneuriales des jeunes.
Through the grant, two workshops will be organized for at least 125 teachers. The Ministry will mobilize resources for continued training of teachers using the developed training plan and programs. This is expected to improve the quality of training, quality of performance by students and ultimately improve employability and entrepreneurship skills among the youth.
Objectives
Le projet devrait permettre de développer les compétences des éducateurs et des responsables de l'EFTP, de l'entrepreneuriat et de la finance dans l'ensemble du système d'éducation et de formation. L'évaluation des besoins en formation devrait permettre d'identifier les lacunes en matière de formation des formateurs, des concepteurs de programmes et des responsables de l'éducation en ce qui concerne l'EFTP, l'entrepreneuriat, l'éducation financière et les STEM. Les résultats de l'analyse serviront de base à l'élaboration d'un plan de formation et de programmes de formation pour les formateurs, les responsables et les concepteurs de programmes dans les domaines respectifs.
The Project is expected to develop the competencies of TVET and Entrepreneurship and Financial educators and leaders across the education and training system. The training needs assessment is expected to identify training gaps among trainers, curriculum developers and education managers with regards to TVET, entrepreneurship, financial literacy and STEM. The findings of the analysis will inform the development of a training plan and training programs for trainers, leaders and curriculum developers in the respective fields.
General
Le présent projet soutient le programme de soutien à la gouvernance et aux réformes économiques (GERSP) financé par la Banque et approuvé en 2022, dans lequel les indicateurs relatifs à l'enseignement et à la formation techniques et professionnels (EFTP), à l'entrepreneuriat et aux TIC ont été inclus en tant qu'éléments déclencheurs et actions préalables. Plus précisément, le don est lié à trois actions politiques dans le cadre de la composante II du GERSP Phase II sur l'amélioration de l'environnement des affaires (i) approbation par le Cabinet de la politique sur les TIC dans l'éducation et la formation, (ii) approbation par le Cabinet de la politique et de la stratégie nationales sur l'éducation à l'entrepreneuriat (2022-2026), et (iii) approbation par le Cabinet de la politique et de la stratégie sur l'enseignement et la formation techniques et professionnels (EFTP). Le don contribuera également à la mise en œuvre de la politique d'EFTP qui est un élément déclencheur de la phase III du GERSP qui devrait être approuvée au troisième trimestre 2023 par le Conseil d'administration de la BAD. Le projet contribuera à renforcer la prestation de l'EFTP et de la formation à l'entrepreneuriat aux Seychelles afin d'améliorer les chances d'emploi des jeunes. Il permettra également de renforcer les capacités en sciences, technologies, ingénierie et mathématiques (STEM), qui sont essentielles au développement et à la résilience de l'économie seychelloise. Il s'articule autour des trois composantes suivantes : (1) Analyse des besoins de formation ; (2) Développement de plans et de programmes de formation ; (3) Gestion et suivi.
The Proposed Project supports the Bank funded Governance and Economic Reforms Support Program (GERSP) approved in 2022 where indicators on Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Entrepreneurship and ICT were included as triggers and prior actions. Specifically, it is linked to three policy actions under component II of GERSP Phase II on improving the business environment (i) approval by Cabinet of ICT in Education and Training Policy, (ii) approval by Cabinet of National Entrepreneurship Education Policy and Strategy (2022-2026), and (iii) approval by Cabinet the TVET Policy and Strategy. The grant will also contribute to implementation of the TVET policy which is a trigger for GERSP phase III which is expected to be approved in quarter three of 2023 by the AfDB Board of Directors. The project will contribute to strengthening the delivery of TVET and entrepreneurship education for Seychelles in order to improve chances of employment for the youth. It will also address capacity in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) which is key to the development and resilience of the Seychelles economy. It is articulated around the three following components: (1) Training Needs Analysis; (2) Development of training plan and programs; (3) Management and monitoring.
