NO-BRC-971277882-TAN-24/0004 Norad - Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation The project will demonstrate how effective nature based solutions (NbS) can be scaled-up in production landscapes and priority ecosystems through bridging policies, knowledge and practical actions for climate change adaptation, mitigation, biodiversity conservation and livelihoods improvement. It is designed for institutional strengthening, accelerate adoption of Nature-Based Solutions and enhance the livelihoods of communities in the selected landscapes thus achieving three short-term outcomes in the project cycle, and in the long-term, scaling the livelihood, food security and climate resilience benefits to the rural communities in Tanzania. The project aims to ensure that NBS related policies and planning is gender mainstreamed and that women are included in solutions implemented in the selected locations. IUCN will partner with WWF, CEOrt, CAN Tanzania, EAMCEF, NCMC, Care, SAGCOT, SAT and relevant government actors. Goal: The overall goal of the project is that men and women in local communities increasingly use effective Nature Based Solutions to handle the effects of climate change on food systems and natural ecosystems. Outcome 1: Improved integration of NbS in climate resilient planning, financing and implementation Outcome 2: Nature Based Solutions (NbS) are increasingly resourced at local level.
