<narrative xml:lang="EN">Informations on Human Rights RJDH</narrative> Project summary This project aims to strengthen the capacities of 100 male, female and youth journalists in human rights in a context of insecurity and restrictions on human rights. These journalists, once trained, will produce reports, debates and press articlesin order to educate a large public throughout the national territory. Also messages will be produced and broadcast on community radios and in national languages, to reach the maximum of the majority illiterate population at more than 60%. Also within the framework of this project, a legal lexicon in the form of a pocket guide will be developed and shared with journalists, law students and civil society actors with a view to getting them to master legal jargon. All these activities will make it possible to awaken the consciousness of the populations, to get them to better understand human rights and their implications, as well as the remedies to be followed in the event of violation of their rights, but also and above all to change behavior. Finally, through this project, we will seize the opportunity to breathe new life into the RJDH, the main media organization specializing in human rights in Niger.

Réseau des Journalistes pour les Dr The RJDH is an apolitical and non-profit association. It was created in 2000, by professional journalists from Niger, specialized in the field of human rights and concerned with respect for human rights in Niger, with a view to: - train their peers, - get them interested in issues related to human rights, - support citizens whose rights have been violated in the legal process by processing and disseminating reliable information, - bring journalists to master legal concepts and to produce and broadcast quality programs related to human rights to the public, to partner media. Since its creation, the RJDH has trained many Nigerien journalists like those in the sub-region, on varied and invigorating themes related to human rights, in particular on the treatment of information during elections, on gender, on the enrollment of children in armed conflicts, in short about human rights in general. Most of the training organized by the RJDH was accompanied by a production part, aimed at determining whether journalists had a good grasp of human rights and their involvement.
