   <narrative xml:lang="FR">En mars 2019, on estime &#xe0; 7,1 millions le nombre de personnes ayant besoin d&apos;aide humanitaire et de protection au Soudan en raison du conflit arm&#xe9;, de l&apos;ins&#xe9;curit&#xe9; alimentaire, de la malnutrition, du d&#xe9;clin &#xe9;conomique et des maladies. Environ 2 millions de personnes sont d&#xe9;plac&#xe9;es &#xe0; l&apos;int&#xe9;rieur du pays. L&apos;instabilit&#xe9; autour des fronti&#xe8;res soudanaises a &#xe9;galement conduit des milliers de personnes &#xe0; chercher asile et refuge au Soudan. Le nombre de r&#xe9;fugi&#xe9;s du Soudan du Sud au Soudan d&#xe9;passe 844 000, ce qui fait du Soudan le plus grand pays d&apos;accueil des Sud-Soudanais. Des r&#xe9;fugi&#xe9;s, demandeurs d&apos;asile et migrants d&apos;&#xc9;rythr&#xe9;e, d&apos;&#xc9;thiopie, de la R&#xe9;publique centrafricaine (RCA), de la Syrie et du Tchad sont &#xe9;galement pr&#xe9;sents, portant le nombre total de r&#xe9;fugi&#xe9;s &#xe0; 1,2 million. On estime que 5,7 millions de personnes souffrent actuellement d&apos;une grave ins&#xe9;curit&#xe9; alimentaire, et que les taux de malnutrition d&#xe9;passant les seuils d&apos;urgence.  Avec l&apos;appui de AMC, ADRA Canada fournit une aide d&apos;urgence en mati&#xe8;re d&apos;eau, d&apos;assainissement, d&apos;hygi&#xe8;ne et de protection &#xe0; 112 907 personnes touch&#xe9;es par le conflit dans l&apos;&#xc9;tat du Nil bleu au Soudan. Les activit&#xe9;s du projet comprennent : (1) remise en &#xe9;tat de 18 pompes &#xe0; main et de 7 syst&#xe8;mes d&apos;approvisionnement en eau dans 8 localit&#xe9;s ; (2) construction de latrines et d&apos;installations de lavage des mains dans 6 &#xe9;coles et dans 6 centres de sant&#xe9; ; (3) fourniture de latrines &#xe0; 1 000 m&#xe9;nages ; (4) formation de 240 femmes et hommes leaders communautaires en m&#xe9;diation, en &#xe9;galit&#xe9; des sexes et relative &#xe0; la sant&#xe9; et aux droits sexuels et reproductifs.</narrative>
   <narrative xml:lang="EN">March 2019 - An estimated 7.1 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance and protection across Sudan as a result of armed conflict, food insecurity, malnutrition, economic decline and disease. Approximately 2 million people are internally displaced within the country. Instability around Sudan&#x2019;s borders has also led to thousands seeking asylum and refuge in Sudan. The number of South Sudanese refugees in Sudan is over 844,000, making Sudan the largest host of South Sudanese. Refugees, asylum seekers and migrants from Central African Republic (CAR), Chad, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Syria are also present, bringing the total number of refugees to 1.2 million. An estimated 5.7 million people are currently severely food insecure, with malnutrition rates over emergency thresholds.  With GAC&#x2019;s support, ADRA Canada is providing emergency water, sanitation, hygiene and protection assistance for up to 112,907 conflict-affected people in Sudan&#x2019;s Blue Nile state. Project activities include: (1) rehabilitating 18 hand pumps and 7 water systems in 8 settlements; (2) constructing gender-sensitive latrines and handwashing facilities in 6 schools and 6 health centers; (3) providing latrine slabs to 1,000 households; and (4) training 240 women and men community leaders in mediation, gender equality, and sexual and reproductive health and rights issues.</narrative>

Le r&#xe9;sultat ultime escompt&#xe9; est de sauver des vies, d&apos;att&#xe9;nuer les souffrances et de pr&#xe9;server la dignit&#xe9; humaine dans les pays qui connaissent des crises humanitaires ou une ins&#xe9;curit&#xe9; alimentaire aigu&#xeb;.</narrative>
     <narrative xml:lang="EN">The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased access to safe drinking water, and safe sanitation and hygiene practices among conflict-affected populations; and (2) increased access to protection services for conflict-affected populations.  The expected ultimate outcome is lives saved, suffering alleviated and human dignity maintained in countries experiencing humanitarian crises or acute food insecurity.</narrative>
