       "": "The overall objective of the programme is to promote sustainable economic growth across the African continent by enhancing the regional economic integration and intra-African trade through the successful implementation of the African Con¬tinental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The Agreement establi-shing the AfCFTA has been signed by 54 of 55 African Union member states and is thus the largest free trade agreement signed since the establishment of the World Trade Organisation. It covers 1.2 billion people and a total economy worth USD 2.5 trillion.\n\nKey results expected:\n- Finalization of phase two negotiations on competition policy, investment policy and intellectual property rights.\n- A fully operational Secretariat is established and able to efficiently monitor the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area.\n- Improved capacity amongst member states and regional economic communities to enable utilization of the new market opportunities created through the AfCFTA.",
