Il permettra une plus grande participation du secteur privé dans la production indépendante d’énergie éolienne, et enfin, contribuera à l’amélioration de la balance commerciale du Maroc puisque 97% des sources d’énergie primaire proviennent actuellement de l’importation. Le programme comprend trois composantes. La composante relative à la production d’électricité d’origine hydraulique et éolienne est appelée « EOLIEN » tandis que celle relative à l’électrification rurale est appelée « PERG ». La troisième composante a trait à la gestion du programme. La composante « EOLIEN » comporte la construction de 3 parcs éoliens (dont 2 concernés par le financement de la Banque) d’une capacité totale de 550 MW situés au Nord du Maroc ; un ensemble comprenant une Station de transfert d’énergie par pompage (STEP) et un complexe hydroélectrique ayant une capacité totale de 520 MW.        "": "The Integrated Wind/Hydro and Rural Electrification Programme is part of of Morocco’s strategic vision to improve its energy security, ensure access to energy in rural areas, and increase the share of renewable and clean energies, thus mitigating the effects of electrical power generation on climate change. It is estimated that the program will help prevent the emission of 65 million tonnes of CO2 over its entire lifetime. The program will allow for greater private sector participation in independent wind energy production, and finally will improve Morocco’s trade balance since 97% of primary energy sources currently come from imports. The project has three components. The hydroelectric and wind power component is called \"WIND\" while the rural electrification is called \"PERG\". The third component relates to the management of the program.
