Aleanca is an Albanian non-profit organization that envisions a free, open, and equal society and aims to strengthen the Albanian LGBTI+ community, protect its rights and fight against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The support is un-earmarked and is based in the Strategic Plan of Aleanca for period 2024-2027. Aleanca main target groups are institutions at central and local level, LGBTI+ persons and other human rights organisations and general public. Main actions of Aleanca’s Strategic Plan are advocacy initiatives for enforcement of current legislation and improved policy and legal framework, direct services for LGBTI+ community, awareness raising campaigns and activities, capacity building activities, networking and exchange with women’s rights organisations, etc.

Aleanca är en albansk ideell organisation som föreställer sig ett fritt, öppet och jämlikt samhälle och syftar till att stärka den albanska HBTQI+-gemenskapen, skydda dess rättigheter och bekämpa diskriminering på grund av sexuell läggning och könsidentitet. Stödet är inte öronmärkt och är baserat i den strategiska planen för Aleanca för perioden 2024-2027. Aleancas huvudsakliga målgrupper är institutioner på central och lokal nivå, HBTQI+-personer och andra människorättsorganisationer samt allmänheten. De viktigaste åtgärderna i Aleancas strategiska plan är påverkansinitiativ för att verkställa gällande lagstiftning och förbättrad politik och rättslig ram, direkta tjänster för HBTQI+-personer, kampanjer och aktiviteter för att öka medvetenheten, kapacitetsbyggande aktiviteter, nätverkande och utbyte med kvinnorättsorganisationer osv.

The overall objective of the Strategic Plan of Aleanca is: LGBTI citizens in Albania live in self-acceptance and self-realization, part of a society that accepts and includes them, where the state guarantees them freedom and equal rights. The Strategic Plan has 4 outcomes: 1) Improving Albanian legislation to enable the prevention of hate crimes and hate speech, non-discrimination and equal treatment of LGBTI citizens; 2) Increasing access of LGBTI citizens to LGBTIQ affirming services and meeting their basic needs; 3) Awareness of Albanian society for diversity, inclusiveness, respect for human rights, and acceptance of the LGBTI community by challenging and changing negative stereotypes and promoting positive representation; 4) To ensure that the Alliance functions as a dedicated and dynamic organization, with effective governance, healthy systems, financial stability, transparency, accountability and a dedicated and professional team.
