General
The Generation G partnership strives towards the creation of gender-just and violence-free societies with and for young people in their full diversity. The partnership raises public support, advocates for improved policies and laws, and strengthens civil society, all as a way to contribute to gender justice. The partnership addresses three key interrelated challenges: gender-based violence, the unequal division of care, and women’s lack of access to civic space. The Generation G partnership is a collaboration of partners in Indonesia, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Rwanda, South Africa, and Uganda, with a global consortium consisting of Rutgers (lead), ABAAD, Promundo and Sonke Gender Justice.

The baseline value is set to 0 as this indicator measures changes implemented by the programme during its lifetime.
Target comment
This target is for the whole programme period: 13 resolutions and thematic reports. Human Rights Council (Geneva): the two resolutions at the Human Rights Council that link most to Generation Gs themes are those on discrimination against women and on violence against women. Take note: discussion of these resolutions are not linked to set agenda items and they can be postponed for multiple sessions making it difficult to ensure that they will be discussed annually. Special Procedures: The Special Procedures are not a negotiated text but of concern for Generation G are the thematic reports that the UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women, its causes and consequences writes. Civil society can provide input on these reports to influence their content.

Target comment
This target is for the whole programme period: Commission on the Status of Women (NYC): These resolutions are agreed to by consensus and with its focus on women it is very important to ensure the texts include gender-transformative language. Some examples of what this means are provided below. 5 High Level Political Forum (NYC): this is the UN forum when the Sustainable Development Goals are reviewed and negotiations also take place on an outcome document. With this broad mandate and keeping in mind Generation Gs thematic focus Generation G will most likely engage with the HLPF negotiations in 2022 when SDG5 on gender equality is up for review. 1
