General
A strong clean cooking sector cannot be achieved without supporting the position of women in the sector at the level of the consumer, entrepreneur and enabling environment. The SEE-Clean Cooking programme seeks to mainstream gender in its approach and ensure that all project activities are implemented through a gender lens.ENERGIA is supporting the implementers of the SEE-Clean cooking programme to achieve this.ENERGIA is an international network of organisations and professionals, active in Africa and Asia, working on the common vision that equal and equitable access to and control over sustainable energy services for both women and men is an essential right to development. The support from ENERGIA includes advising the SEE-Clean Cooking projects on conducting a gender analysis, developing a gender action plan, integrating gender in all relevant project activities and making progress in addressing the practical, productive and strategic needs identified.
