This project aims to set up a framework for extending support to the Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC) and other relevant institutions involved in ADR services in Rwanda.It builds on the earlier project Training and organisation of the Institute of Arbitration of KIAC in Rwanda. This project lasted 23 months and ended in May 2019. The project is (jointly) implemented by KIAC. KIAC is both a partner and beneficiary. The objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity of the KIAC to enhance the service provisions for legal professionals in the ADR domain and help define the ADR regulatory framework in East Africa. The Centre for International Legal Cooperation (CILC) aims to conduct a fact-finding mission in Rwanda, lasting one to two weeks. From information gathered during the mission, CILC will create an exhaustive action plan on the state of affairs and lay the foundation for implementing a future project with KIAC and other institutions engaged in ADR service.
