FRONT LINE Front Line Defenders was founded and became a registered Charity in 2002 in the Republic of Ireland. The mission of Front Line Defenders is to protect, defend, support, and act for and with human rights defenders whose lives and health are at risk because of their peaceful and legitimate activities. We entered into a partnership with frontline defenders to support us in the fight against the shrinking space of our partners to do their legitimate work and to support us in protecting our partners while doing their work. Thesupport that frontline defenders will deliver will be on the aspect of digital protection; physical protection and protection through visibility (anti-defamation).

As part of the Strategic Partnership Oxfam Novib strengthens as well its partners on issues of protection since more and more partners are threatened in their personal and organizational security for doing their work. This project aims to increase capacity, knowledge and skills in the field of security and protection for Oxfam Novib's partners at risk in four countries. This is a preventive strategy aiming to improve risk assessment and protection planning among civil society and develop physical and digital protection skills. Front Line Defenders situated in Ireland will provide this support through a series of protection and security trainings including workshops, one-to-one support and consultations on various aspects of security and protection.
