PARTICIPATING ORG REFERENCE ROLE TYPE
CNV - Christelijk Nationaal
The role of the "Christelijk Nationaal Vakverbond, CNV" ( Christian National Trade Union) is to represent the interests of their members in the field of work and income. With an open, professional and personal style they serve primarily the CNV members. The CNV finds inspiration in Christian social thinking and has its roots in the Bible. From there, CNV believes that every human strives for and aims to "reach his/her destination". In our performance-oriented and increasingly complex society the CNV wants to contribute bymaking people resilient and agile in carrying out their work. The CNV strives for a society in which people have equal opportunities as much as possible, and sustainability is a central concept. Staff, volunteers and members of the CNVturn their talents to transform these ideals into customized services, appealing products and striking actions. To achieve this, the CNV maintains an ongoing dialogue with members, society and international organizations in the field of human and labor.

General
CNV is strongly represented in the various works councils and staff representations of companies in the sectors covered by the Collective Labor Agreement for Metals and Technology (branch organization UNETO-VNI, metal union, FME), Collective Labor Agreement for Gas Stations (branch organization BOVAG ) and the Collective Labor Agreement for Metal Electrical (branch organization FME-CWM). CNV Professionals concludes collective labor agreements for sectors and companies in these sectors. In addition to working with employees and employers, CNV also works directly with social partners from the various sectors in the field of occupational health and safety policy, education and training with the training funds OOMT and OTIB. CNV is represented on an international level in ITUC, Within the covenant, CNV wants to negotiate with trade association VNMI and companies about mechanisms to eliminate labor rights violations in the metallurgical industry, whether it concerns heavy industry as well as recycling or scrap or artesanal mining. Labor rightsviolations, such as unhealthy or unsafe working conditions, low wages and lack of access to social security - when extracting raw materials for the metallurgical industry or in the work of scrap metal collectors - regularly come to the fore here. CNV wants to establish due diligence in the metal supply chain together with the branch organization, companies and NGOs present and to strive for compliance with the OECD Guidelines for multinational companies.
