Oxfam Novib is one of the 17 national affiliates of the Oxfam International Confederation. It started life in 1956 as the Netherlands Organisation for International Assistance (Novib), and joined forces with Oxfam in 1994. Working together in confederation, the Oxfam affiliates can speak with one clear and compelling voice on issues of global concern: climate change, health and education forall, agriculture, trade, and conflicts and emergencies. Oxfam established this country office to support local organizations and projects. Through this local office Oxfam Novib directly contributes towards this project#s implementation.

General
Oxfam Mekong Regional Water Governance Program has had a long -term partnership with DFAT in the Greater Mekong Water Resource Program. Since 01st March 2014, Oxfam has contributed to the DFAT#s GMWRP through the implementation of the Mekong Civil Society Inclusion pillar. The Inclusion Project completed the implementation of its activity on 30th September 2019 (5.5 years). The project Closure Report and project audit is scheduled to be submitted by end of November 2019. During the DFAT-Oxfam SteeringCommittee meeting held on 8th October 2019, Oxfam reported that there is an unspent balance from total AUD 9 million funds. The proposal seeks DFAT#s approval for Oxfam#s Mekong Regional Water Governance Program to use the remaining balance from the project for the following priorities: 1) DFAT#s Investment Proposal Development for the Second Phase of the Inclusion Project 2) Program Technical Support/Advice 3) Approach to engage effectively with private sector 4) Media and Communication work on the Asia Women and River Congress 5) Program team capacity support.
