The project will address the poverty situation in two districts in Western Uganda that have recently experienced the discovery of oil. It will help 6,000 poor women and young people take advantage of the opportunities this brings by improving their access to employment and to skills training. The potentially negative social and environmental impacts of the oil industry will be addressed by ensuring that all residents are fully involved in decision-making about the future of the districts.;
