On this portal companies (suppliers and buyers), interested in doing business in a sustainable way, can register. The digital portal will assess the degree of sustainability of each company (buyers and suppliers) that joins the portal, and will give each company a rating based on various international corporate social responsibility (ICSR) subjects. Buyers can search on the website for potential suppliers and submit a request for a pro forma. Based on price and rating the buyers can select a supplier. The higher the rating, the better the production circumstances, the more interesting a product becomes for entrepreneurs (and the final consumers), which put a lot emphasis on decent production circumstances.Next to a meeting and trading place for entrepreneurs, the training portal also offers al kinds of support programmes for the companies/employees of the companies to improve their situation. For example, access to education, access to healthcare, living wage etc. Companies (suppliers and/or buyers) can decide to include these types of programmes and can include the cost in the price. By doing so, this can have an influence on the ICSR rating on the portal, making a company a more interesting trading partner for others. Every trade via the portal, will have to pay a certain amount to the portal, so the portal can become a self-sustaining entity, that can provide its services to its clients.The end goal of this project is, by promoting sustainable trade, improve the overall ICSR situation in the value chain. The first programme, which the portal will start with, is the promotion of access to education to reduce the risks on child labour in the value chain.The project is finalised.
