NL-KVK-27108436-A-06084-05:MZ Oxfam Novib In the communities heavily reliant on fishing in Zambezia and Cabo Delgado, Oxfam and ADEL will provide 3,500 fishermen with fishing kits (fishing nets, fauls) to restore their income generation activities. In addition, Oxfam will provide 400 local fishermen withvouchers for the canoe/boat repair and will link them with sixlocal carpenters groups that will receive tools to repair the boats. Furthermore, 400 beneficiaries, mostly women, will receive fish processing kits(nets, drying platform, cage for storage dried, material) to diversify household income generation activities by adding opportunities for preserving, storing,and selling dried or smokedfish. All women and men engaged in the fishing component will receive a series of trainingon food processing, hygiene,and small business management. KUKUMBI - ORGAN DESENVOL RURAL Kukumbi is an organisation based in Quelimane, capital of Zambezia Province in Central Mozambique. It was founded in 1997 by local development professionals, and began implementing and managing projects in 2002-2003; small-scale at first. It is still a relativelysmall organisation. Kukumbi has built its institutional capacities and managed to build a sizable network of local, national and international partnerships. It is an eager and learning organisation. Kukumbi's mission is to alleviate poverty through social-economic and cultural development in the province of Zambezia. It aims to achieve this by supporting and promoting the participation of groups in rural areas, and by facilitating access to basic social services like healthcare, education and social reintegration. Kukumbi's main focus is on HIV and AIDS. In 2006 it approached Oxfam Novib with a draft paper around the problem of violence against girls in the education system, related to HIV and AIDS.
