The main objective of this project is to protect pregnant mothers and newborns from measles-related complications by ensuring availability of emergency obstetric and neonatal care and targeted family planning support to measles-vaccinated women in Samoa. UNFPA will use CERF for the provision of medical care to pregnant women and new mothers infected with measles, emergency obstetric and neonatal care to manage expected increase in complications due to measles, and targeted family planning and risk communication support to measles-vaccinated women. An estimated 4,944 women and girls will benefit from this project, which will be implemented in three months.
