DESCRIPTION
Das Projekt fördert den regionalen Dialog, die Koordinierung und die Fähigkeit der AMS zur Umsetzung des Seerechts und der interagierenden Regelungen des Völkerrechts sowie zur Förderung der Rechtsstaatlichkeit. Das Projekt besteht aus zwei Komponenten, die sich auf (1) das Seerecht im Kontext und (2) die Ausarbeitung von Rechtsvorschriften beziehen. Jede Komponente hat ihr eigenes spezifisches Ziel. Um den Umfang der Aktivitäten zu verdeutlichen, wird die Komponente 1 in 1(A) Seerecht und 1(B) Regime-Interaktion und Seerecht unterteilt. Das spezifische Ziel der ersten Komponente ist die Stärkung des maritimen Friedens und der Sicherheit in der ASEAN-Region durch die Förderung der Diplomatie und der regionalen Zusammenarbeit bei kritischen Seerechtsfragen und anderen interagierenden völkerrechtlichen Themen. Das spezifische Ziel der zweiten Komponente besteht darin, die Kapazitäten der AMS in Bezug auf Standards und Techniken für die Abfassung von Rechtsvorschriften zu verbessern und technische Hilfe zur Unterstützung von Gesetzesreformen zur Umsetzung von Völkerrechtsstandards zu leisten.
This project advances regional dialogue, coordination, and the capacity of AMS to implement the law of the sea and interacting regimes of public international law, as well as promote the rule of law. This project consists of two components related to (1) the law of the sea in context and (2) legislative drafting. Each with its own specific objective. To further clarify the scope of activities and envisaged participants, component 1 is subdivided into 1(A) Law of the Sea and 1(B) Regime Interaction and the Law of the Sea. The specific objective of component one is to strengthen maritime peace and security in the ASEAN region by promoting diplomacy and regional cooperation on critical law of the sea topics and other interacting international law regimes. The specific objective of component two is to enhance the capacity of AMS of legislative drafting standards and techniques and to provide technical assistance in support of legislative reforms to implement international law standards.

Civilian peace-building, conflict prevention and resolutionSupport for civilian activities related to peace building, conflict prevention and resolution, including capacity building, monitoring, dialogue and information exchange. Bilateral participation in international civilian peace missions such as those conducted by the UN Department of Political Affairs (UNDPA) or the European Union (European Security and Defence Policy), and contributions to civilian peace funds or commissions (e.g. Peacebuilding Commission, Peacebuilding thematic window of the MDG achievement fund etc.).
