DESCRIPTION
The objective of this project is to support 5 beneficiaries of international protection who are unable to fund their family members’ travel due to limited financial means to exercise their right to family unity through safe and regular migration of approximately 5 family members. IOM has the specific expertise and capacity required to successfully deliver the project based on extensive experience in movement management and resettlement processing. To be eligible for assistance, beneficiaries must have refugee status (including resettled (programme) refugee status) or subsidiary protection status (or have previously had refugee status or subsidiary protection status in the exceptional case that an Irish citizen applies), be claiming social welfare or on a low income and have been granted family reunification permission in respect of their family members. The population of concern includes protection beneficiaries and resettled refugees in Ireland who have received permission for family members but are unable for a variety of reasons such as lack of funding, social infrastructure, knowledge or confidence to independently arrange and fund their own travel to Ireland.
