The project targets strengthening the anti-trafficking response of key stakeholders and the victim protection mechanisms in Türkiye. To this aim, IOM will support the development of Third National Action Plan on Counter Trafficking through the establishment of a technical working group, organization of workshops and meetings with relevant stakeholders including public institutions, academia and NGOs and organization of study visits to observe best practices. To ensure safe accommodation, necessary living conditions and adequate services for victims of human trafficking, three selected shelter buildings will be renovated and refurbished. For the management of selected victim of trafficking shelters, NGOs will be selected and contracted and their capacities will be developed through trainings to appropriately assist victims of trafficking in human beings. Complementary to all these efforts, the project will also deliver cascaded counter-trafficking trainings to public sector, private sector, and NGO representatives to develop their capacities for coordinating and implementing effective trafficking prevention strategies and victim assistance at the national and local level. In addition, an awareness raising campaign will be developed and implemented among particularly vulnerable individuals and the public on how to recognize trafficking in human being indicators and seek assistance.
