Through this Central Emergency Response Fund allocation, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is contributing towards addressing the most urgent needs of people affected by the flood season in Chad. Reliable data on the needs of flood-affected populations, particularly individuals and households in vulnerable situations, is critical to inform the response of IOM and other actors responding to the crisis. The absence of this critical information impacts the scope and quality of the humanitarian assistance provided thus far. In response to this gap in the ongoing response, IOM is providing technical support to the Commission Nationale d'accueil de Réinsertion des Réfugies to collect and manage data in the form of multi-sectoral needs assessments on flood-affected populations, in coordination with partners providing assistance including the World Food Programme and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. IOM is also supporting the Chadian Red Cross to expand the geographical scope of beneficiary registration to capture vital information informing the provision of lifesaving assistance.
