Following the successful national consultations organized in 2016 to assist Iran and Turkmenistan in nationalizing SDG4 targets and associated indicators, UNESCO Tehran, with the support of UNESCO Bangkok, will build on the completed activities of the 38 C/5 by continuing to provide technical support in implementing the SDG4 - Education 2030 agenda. UNESCO Tehran, in collaboration with UNESCO Bangkok, will conduct follow-up activities to build national capacities in strengthening EMIS in light of monitoring country progress vis-à-vis SDG4 targets and indicators. In addition, in line with the expressed needs and priorities of Iran and Turkmenistan, support will be provided to both Member States in the strengthening of ICT in ED policies, with a focus on literacy.
