General
Core support, Sarajevo Open Center, 2024-2027. The cooperation partner has during 2023 developed and defined a new strategic plan for 20242028. In this strategic plan, both the mission and vision have, among other things, been modified. The mission statement has been made more concise and specific and reads as follows "Sarajevo Open Centre is a civil society organization that works on advancing human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We initiate and create systematic social changes, emphasizing gender equality and position of LGBTI+ persons". The same applies for SOC’s vision statement, it has been reassessed and positions SOC as an important driver of change in different processes. The modified vision is outlined as "Sarajevo Open Centre believes in a fair, democratic and inclusive society, based on equal rights and opportunities for all". The four strategic planning pillars that support its mission and vision are: 1. Establishment of legal framework and policy framework for human rights throughout BiH. 2. Strengthening of agents of change throughout BiH. 3. Strengthening the values of human rights, equality, and inclusion in BH. society and public discourse. 4. Continuous organizational development. SOC focuses on maximizing strengths to make use of opportunities. SOC wants to take on opportunities stemming from partnerships and regional cooperation with similar CSOs both from the Western Balkans region and EU. They want to decentralize its activities through empowering local CSOs and thereby contribute to the improvement of the CSO sector. To improve visibility, SOC aims at continuing the improvement of their strategic communication, internally and externally. SOC wants to improve the sustainable formats of work and activities as well as optimizing their organizational processes by making use of technology tools to reduce the task and administrative overload. SOC campaigns for LGBTI persons and women’s rights and their target groups is clear. They want to raise the awareness regarding LGBTI related questions among different institutions in BiH, for instance polices, prosecutors and medical professionals. SOC works strategically on changing the situation on the ground, but also at policy level
