Insatsens övergriande mål: "Improving disaster preparedness for early and effective response and resilience of communities affected by natural and man-made disasters in territories with high rates of social violence in Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast and El Salvador dry corridor." Insatsens specifika mål: "Increase early preparedness and response capacity with a focus on protection, gender (with special attention in Sexual and Gender Based Violence) and inclusion of People with Disabilities (PwD), of local actors such as schools and community committees in coordination with national system institutions upon the adverse threats of climate change and social violence in Puerto Cabezas in Nicaragua; Cabañas and Cuscatlán in El Salvador."

Plan International Sverige har ansökt om finansiering av egeninsats om 1 164 706 SEK för EU-projektet "Enabling resilience and disaster preparedness to natural hazards and social violence for high-risk communities in Nicaragua and El Salvador" under 2020-2021. Insatsen syftar till att: 1. "Improving disaster preparedness for early and effective response and resilience of communities affected by natural and man-made disasters in territories with high rates of social violence in Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast and El Salvador dry corridor." 2. "Increase early preparedness and response capacity with a focus on protection, gender (with special attention in Sexual and Gender Based Violence) and inclusion of People with Disabilities (PwD), of local actors such as schools and community committees in coordination with national system institutions upon the adverse threats of climate change and social violence in Puerto Cabezas in Nicaragua; Cabañas and Cuscatlán in El Salvador." Projektet kommer att genomföras på regional nivå i El Salvador och Plan International Sverige kommer att arbeta i samverkan med Plan International El Salvador. Projektet är även nära samordnat med utbildningsministeriet i El Salvador. Plan International Sverige är huvudsökande organisation och har det övergripande ansvaret för projektets implementering och koordinering. Den aktuella insatsen har EU-kommissionens referensnummer ECHO/-AM/BUD/2020/91000. Insatsen har en total budget på 705 882, 35 EUR, vilket motsvarar cirka 7 517 882 SEK. Av detta har Plan International beviljats 600 000 EUR från EU-kommissionen och ansöker om 1 164 706 SEK (cirka 15%) från Sida. Insatsen innebär en sammanslagning av två projekt under ett avtal. Plan International Sverige ansvarar för den del av insatsen som implementeras i El Salvador och ansökan omfattar bara den delen av projektet. Plan International Spanien ansvarar i sin tur för den del av insatsen som implementeras i Nicaragua. Insatsen har två specifika mål för respektive land samt ett gemensamt mål för båda i form av en krismodifierare. Insatsen i El Salvador och Nicaragua innebär två separata budgetar. Eftersom Plan International Spanien är avtalspart till ECHO ställer Sida som krav att ett avtal mellan Plan International Spanien och Plan International Sverige upprättas innan Sida betalar ut medel.

The project will be conducted on a regional level in El Salvador, and Plan International Sweden will collaborate with Plan International El Salvador. The project is also closely coordinated with the Ministry of Education in El Salvador. Plan International Sweden is lead applicant to Sida and has the overall responsibility for the coordination and implementation of the project. The contribution has the EU Commission reference number: ECHO/-AM/BUD/2020/91000. The contribution's total budget is 705 882 EUR, which corresponds to approximately 7 517 882 SEK. The requested support from Sida is 1 164 706 SEK, which corresponds to 15% of the total budget. ECHO asked Plan International to merge two projects under one contract. Plan International Sweden is responsible for the part of the action being implemented in El Salvador and this match application is only in regards to that part of the action. Plan International Spain is responsible for the part of the action being implemented in Nicaragua. The action has two specific results for Nicaragua and El Salvador respectively and a joint result in the form of a crisis modifier. ECHO allocated a specific budget amount to the El Salvador and Nicaragua part of the action respectively. Due to Plan International Spain being the agreement partner to ECHO, a condition for the first payment will be that an agreement between Plan International Spain and Plan International Sweden is signed and sent to Sida.
