The organisation Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has applied to Sida for core-funding of 44 million SEK to carry out their Strategy, and as operationalized in their "Partnership Proposal to Sida; Promote free, safe and independent journalism", with global implementation, during the period 2021-2024. The intervention aims at promoting journalistic freedom, pluralism and independence, including the defense of those who embody these ideals. RSF has 4 strategic priorities; 1) Guarantee the future of investigative reporting and reportage, 2) Guarantee trustworthy journalism by protecting its independence, 3) Combat technological threats to journalistic freedom and pluralism, and 4) Thwart global offensives aimed at reducing the space for journalism. RSF works towards these strategic priorities by; a) trying to enhance its own impact, by consolidating its' strategic framework structure and enhancing flexibility, and by strengthening partnerships, and b) using innovative advocacy to address information disorder, by advocacy and public outreach to try to hold duty bearers to account, and by dealing with informational chaos, by supporting regulation and self-regulation of the global information and communication space. RSF works in partnership with, and forward funds to other organisations and actors around the globe.
