DESCRIPTION
Contribute to increase smallholders’ production and profits by training them on adding value to produce, product transformation, and entrepreneurship essentials. Modernize, expand or diversify the productive processes of families for climate resilience (for example, rescue and enhance local genetic material that may be useful for climate resilient production), reduce their vulnerability and gradually reach a semi-commercial system. The project will support the initiatives with supplies and equipment, while the families contribute with labour and local materials. Specific conditions will be applied to promote inclusion of women, youth and people living with disabilities. The production models must comply with the technical feasibilities of an investment, notably social and organizational feasibility, and environmental awareness. The project will promote the empowerment of local organizations so that they can provide credit, savings, technical assistance and marketing services. The local, community-based organisations (CBOs) will integrate other local stakeholders and ensure the anchoring of knowledge to the territory.
