DESCRIPTION
Support to implement the Safer Births bundle of Care (SBBC) initiative in Borno State, Nigeria, aiming to reduce the occurrence of maternal and newborn deaths due to preventable causes. The SBBC is a comprehensive and internationally recognized initiative designed to reduce maternal and newborn mortality by improving the quality of care provided. Building on Haydom Luteran Hospital (HLH) and Laerdal global Health (LGH) experience in Tanzania, and NCA’s experience in both countries, the project aims to address critical maternal and newborn health challenges in northeast Nigeria (Maiduguri) where neonatal and maternal mortality rates are high, and the health system continues facing significant challenges to address the problem. The project ensures universal access to sexual and reproductive health for women and young girls through reducing risk factors.
