Conflict in northern Mozambique atributed to extremism has exposed untold suffering, political violence, displaced millions, destroyed public and private property and mobilised the international community to assist. Access to accurate and timely information is paramount. The need for reliable data on violence patterns, drivers, and actors is critical to facilitating informed dialogue and negotiatios at all levels, fostering conflict-sensitive and effective program design and accountability. The primary goal of the Project is to ensure that its data and analysis reach decision-makers in position to enact tangible policy changes by enhancing the capacity of local data partners, increasing awareness and understanding among policy makers and practitioners. The expected outcomes and impact are six-fold; (i) enhanced global understanding, (ii) increased media coverage, (iii) adaptive programming, (iv) support for peace initiatives, (v) operational effectiveness, and (vi) proactive planning and response.
