DESCRIPTION
The support targets poor and vulnerable Lebanese communities to alleviate poverty and reduce social tensions. The project supports the national social safety net (National Poverty Targeting Programme NPTP), including by ensuring that women and girls benefit equally with men and boys from the social safety net. 1. Food Assistance to Vulnerable Lebanese Populations through the National Poverty Targeting Programme. 2. School Meals Programme to Vulnerable school-aged children enrolled in basic education in public schools. NPTP: More than75,000 vulnerable Lebanese households receive monthly cash assistance in US to cover basic needs. School Meals: Approximately 90,000 Lebanese and non-Lebanese children aged 5-14 years old receive delivery of nutritious in-school snacks or in-school prepared cold meals All regions, including Beirut, Mount Lebanon, North Lebanon, South Lebanon and Bekaa areas.
