NISCOPS supports smallholder farmers to produce palm oil sustainably (socio-economically and environmentally). The programs vision is: “That landscapes where oil palms are grown are managed sustainably and smallholders measurably benefit from their inclusion in palm oil markets”. Solidaridad executes the program in partnership with the governments of palm oil producing countries Indonesia, Malaysia, Ghana, Nigeria and Colombia and works with the governments of the Netherlands and the UK as donors. The program applies an integrated approach to selected landscapes in major palm oil producing countries, as well as to major palm oil consumer markets, notably the EU. Interventions are directed to smallholder farmers, the private sector and public actors with the aim to have impact in three areas: Better incomes; Better land use; Inclusive markets; This project relates to the work done for the NISCOPS programme in the Netherlands and Europe.
