General
Within the Global Business Sector sector in Rwanda, IT outsourcing (ITO) is a key sector for job creation. International businesses are increasingly turning to outsourcing as part of their digital transformation efforts, leveraging specialized skills and technologies without the need to build these capabilities in-house. Cost efficiency remains a major driver, as outsourcing reduces operational expenses, particularly for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The rise of remote work has also made companies more comfortable with online teams, further fueling the demand for outsourced IT services. However, a key challenge remains. Rwanda is not yet recognized on the outsourcing map, which in turn means that Rwandan software developers have not yet succeeded in positioning themselves in the global market indicating a need to network internationally. This project gives opportunity to successful Rwandese businesses in ITO to participate and expose at IT Procurement and Sourcing Conference on 6 and 7 October in Amsterdam, thereby enabling the Rwandan ITO businesses to network and explore opportunities with Dutch and European companies. This mission will have the following goals:1. Showcase the visiting Rwandan ITO providers’ value selling propositions in the software development sector, gain insight into their unique value propositions, understanding their strategic advantages for outsourcing2. Identify new outsourcing partners for Rwandese business: Dutch businesses can learn about the services offered by companies active in Rwanda and explore potential business partnerships 3. Showcase Rwanda’s talent pool in the sector: learn about Rwanda’s abundant talent pool and directly engage with a handful of Rwandan youth working in the sector4. Dutch companies can assess Rwanda’s readiness as a delivery location with specific attention to the visiting companies: understand the companies’ readiness as delivery source for software developing services, exploring its infrastructure, technology, and regulatory framework.
