General
Increased regional trade opportunities could greatly benefit the poultry and horticulture sector in the Sahel. Development of these sectors will increase job and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth and women. Through training and networking opportunities, this 3-year (2022-2025) project aims to support 60 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger in strengthening their regional trade relations. Moreover, they will be positioned as role models and mentors for young entrepreneurs in the poultry and horticulture sector, in order to share their gained knowledge. By including activities in coastal countries in the project as well, it will be possible to connect the participants to Dutch knowledge and expertise available in the broader West African region.
