This project aims to develop a scalable, smallholder-centric model for sustainable growth of the dairy sector and thus contribute to improving the position of smallholder dairy producers and increasing food safety and security in Myanmar. It will bring together local and Netherlands-based stakeholders to address essential bottlenecks whilst developing markets and increasing the role of private finance in the sector. The program will support the transfer of technology, knowledge, goods and services from companies in the Netherlands and Myanmar, simultaneously creating an environment for the entry of other suppliers from the private sector. It will draw heavily from the renowned Netherlands approach to dairy, emphasizing the production of quality dairy outputs in an environment that benefits producers whilst addressing animal welfare and environmental sustainability.
