Mobilising Data for Sustainable Development
General
The D2D Sustaining and scaling - East Africa Hub project is one of the 9 child-projects of the Akvo Data to Decision project. Akvo supports a vast network of partners across East and West Africa, South and South East Asia, South America and the Pacific. Building on our experience in the WASH sector, we have commenced work across a range of new sectors, including sustainable agriculture, disaster response and climate change adaptation. The rapid expansion into new countries and sectors has delivered valuable lessons for improving our approach further. However, it takes time and resources to establish new partnerships and leverage the opportunities we are presented with. The D2D activities of Akvo's East Africa hub (office in Kenya) will focus on * National WASH monitoring and IWRM: improve and scale up national WASH monitoring, including building national WASH databases. * Supporting fragile states: addressing the lack of reliable up-to-date information in the form of accessible national, regional, and local databases.
