Oxfam is an international confederation of 17 organizations working together in more than 90 countries. Oxfam International was formed in 1995 by a group of independent non-governmental organizations. Their aim was to work together for greater impact on the international stage to reduce poverty and injustice. The name "Oxfam" comes from the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief, founded in Britain in 1942. The group campaigned for food supplies to be sent through an allied naval blockade to starving women and children in enemy-occupied Greece during the Second World War. As well as becoming a world leader in the delivery of emergency relief, Oxfam International implements long-term development programs in vulnerable communities. We are also part of a global movement, campaigning with others, for instance, to end unfair trade rules, demand better health and education services for all, and to combat climate change. Today, there are 17 member organizations of the Oxfam International confederation. They are based in: Australia, Belgium, Canada,France, Germany, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Ireland, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Quebec, Spain and the United States. The Oxfam International Secretariat is based in Oxford, UK. The Secretariat runs advocacy offices in Brussels, Geneva, New York, Washington DC and Brasilia. Oxfam GB is an actor in the implementation of this project.

General
The action proposed will meet individual and households’ short-term needs and, in parallel, it will foster a long-term approach. The action will strengthen the capacities of communities and local institutions (formal and informal). It also supports the most vulnerable to restore/improve livelihoods and income opportunities to build resilience of target beneficiaries to cope with the impacts of the crisis. The CFW activities will be implemented to create job opportunities during lean season when the risk is high of using negative strategies such as selling productive assets and child labor. The cash for work activities will also be selected through community process to meet priority needs in terms of rehabilitating community assets and public infrastructure to support food production and access to livelihoods services. The CFW schemes will be focused on restoration of livelihoods assets such as by rehabilitating rainwater harvesting tanks and irrigation canals to improve community access to water for agricultures and livestock production. Another priorities will be rehabilitation of protection walls to protect farmland and roads from floods, as well as , pavingand rehabilitating roads to improve community access to market and service ,
