FairFin
Fairfin is an active critical platform for consumers who seek financial services from banks and financial institutions, who act according a set of ethical principles. They advise and inform the public, based on mutual dialogue with banks, investigative reports and social actions. Humor and free publicity is their proven way to influence the financial policies of banks in Belgium. They achieved that Belgium became the first EU-country to adopt a legal ban on investing in controversial weapons. Fairfin receives structural subsidies from the Flemish government for which it developed a 5-year strategy and financial plan. Fairfin is a partner in the European project Facing Finance, which requires extensive bi-annual reporting according to European standards, including on financial reporting. Since 2014, Fairfin leads the Fair Finance Guide Belgium coalition, with a total of 10 members, all Belgium CSO's.

General
Fairfin is an active critical platform who advices consumers who seek financial services from banks and financial institutions, whoact according a set of ethical principles. Since 2014, Fairfin leads the Fair Finance Guide Belgium coalition, with a total of 6 members, all Belgium CSO's. FFG Belgium researches the level of integration of ESG criteria in the policies and practices of the major(Belgium French, Dutch and German) banks that are operating on the Belgium market. The research results are published and used to inform the general public, and bank clients specifically, mainly through social and conventional media, events and humourfull actions. The coalition provides awareness raising and stimulates bank clients to take action by sending commentsto their bank (demanding improvements, indicating that they will shift their account to another bank or praising their conduct). The coalition uses the research results also to engage with the banks (and their workers) directly and to influence the government and financial authorities wherestricter (application of ) regulation is needed. The FFG coalition works in close cooperation with other FFG coalitions in Europe and Southern countries.
