General
Pillar 1: Investing in Institutional Strengthening Immediate outcome 1: Nexus members have integrated Enterprise Resource Planning systems for HR, finance, logistics and procurement contributing to financial accountability for efficient and effective, locally-leddelivery of programming. This project will strengthen institutional capacity of NEXUS members by investing in organizations’ digital ERP, integrating finance, human resources and logistics systems. Starting from a review and audit of NEXUS member organizations’ systems, each NEXUS member will be able to invest in the required upgrade as per identified gaps. Strengthened systems are a key component of institutional capacity, improving financial accountability and allowing for stronger qualitycontrol checks, increased absorption capacity, high-quality project implementation and timely reporting. A total investment of EUR 583,000 for eight organizationsover 4 years, co-funded by the Embassy of The Netherlands and Swiss Development Corporation(SDC), complements current organizational development interventions under DRA. This total amount is calculated based on an amount of EUR 70,000 per organization (based on the average the NEXUS members received from their suppliers after consulting them). The exact amount needed per organization will bedetermined after completion of the system’s audit. Pillar 2: Community-Driven Development with Government and Private Sector Partners Immediate outcome 2: Nexus members have a tested approach for community-driven development with government and private sector partners. The Community-Driven Development (CDD) model supports community-prioritized interventions to improve livelihoods and build demand and capacity for local level development at community level. NEXUS’ locally-led CDD model is unique in its triple nexus approach, integrating humanitarian, development and peacebuilding interventions. As part of the proposed project, NEXUS will undertake three pilot CDD projects in Jubaland (Afmadow District), Galmudug (Adado District) and Somaliland (El Af Weyn District). These are locations where NEXUS members have existing presence. The CDD process and projects will be implemented over the course of 4 years, ata cost of EUR 863,705.
