The Support Center for Local Initiatives for Development and Assistance to Vulnerable Persons, "CIDEP" in acronym, is a non-profit association of Burundi law approved in 2011 by the Ministerial Ordinance N ° 530/108 of 3/02 / 2011. The Vision is the construction of a peaceful Burundi where households are actors of sustainable development. The Mission is to Contribute to the promotion of sustainable development in Burundi. The strategic objectives of CIDEP is to achieve its mission, the organization CIDEP works on four main objectives; Contribute to peacebuilding by promoting social cohesion through inclusive community events and community peace and social cohesion agreements; Promote the financial empowerment of RDExCs youth and women; Promote sexual and reproductive health from acommunity development perspective; Promoting fiscal responsibility and fiscal and budgetary governance at the local and national levels with the aim of contributing to sustainable promotion. The Support Center for Local Development Initiatives and Assistance to Vulnerable Persons CIDEP in sigle intends to implement a Rural Roads Rehabilitation project in the municipalities of Matongo and Muruta in the province of Kayanza and those of Mwumba and Gashikanwa in the province of Ngozi; in the framework of the Tubehoneza - Rural Development program: Reduction of Risks of Natural Disasters, with the material and financial support of Oxfam Novib in Burundi. This six-month project (March to September 2022) will target the Zamu-Mpemba-Burarana-Nabukoro trail. These are the hills of Musonge and Camizi in the Commune of Matongo, the hills of Mutana and Muciro in the commune of Muruta: and the hills of Cahi and Kagozi in the commune of Mwumba and finally the hills of Musumba and Ruhengeri in the commune of Gashikanwa. Indeed, the CIDEP benefits from field experience and especially from having worked in this area of Reduction and Management of Catastrophic Risks related to climate change. The main objective of this project is to reduce the risk of climate-related disasters (DRR) in Burundi through the Rehabilitation of rural roads. Specific project objectives include: • The rehabilitation of the pathways of penetration and interconnection between the different communities of the targeted communes. • The maintenance of the gutters of the different slopes of the aforementioned hills The direct target of this project is veryvulnerable households that will be identified in the Intervention Zone.These are men, women to whom the project will grant sums of money in return for part of the work of rehabilitating rural roads (cash for work). The choice of these beneficiaries is already carried out by the key witnesses, the hospital administration in direct collaboration with the community relays as well as the representative of the lessor at the level of the province of the intervention. Other members of the community including community leaders, hill and sub-hill officials, grassroots policy makers,the heads of cooperative associations and any other opinion leaders will be identified and associated in the realization of this project. ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT • Field mission to monitor activities; • Overseeing the cleaning, cleaning and thinning of the slopes of the targeted hills for their rehabilitation; EXPECTED RESULTS • Theslopes of the hills are rehabilitated, thus allowing a better intra-Community communicability; • The environment is well protected as landslides will not cause landslides; • Financial autonomy of communities through cash for work;
