RECERD is a non-governmental organization (NGO)- not-for-profit, based in Hanoi, under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology (VUSTA), operating according to the permission No A958 of Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) issued on January 30, 2011. RECERD has duty to promote sound demonstrations of good practices in natural resources conservation and rural poor people in Vietnam, improving livelihoods of local people through community development, capacity building for advocacy and policy influencing. RECERD is the active member of Good Governance Working Group (GOGE) in Vietnam; Alliance of Action for Civil societies Vietnam (CSO Vietnam); Civil Society inclusion in food security and poverty elimination network (CIFPEN), VietnamFisheries Association Society(VINAFIS), Land Alliance (LANDA), and Vietnam River Network (VRN). RECERD has 28 people, including advisory boards, board of directors, and employees that include 03 associate professors, 07 PhD, 10 masters, 07 bachelors and engineers, 01 intermediate level and social workers. In addition, RECERD has a network of collaborators; numerous of youths and volunteers are concentrated in the coast of Vietnam. The RECERD works for its missions on #for the green future# which focuses on three dimensions below: 1) Contribution tonatural conservation and rational use of natural resources for today and tomorrow 2) Enhance the welfare of women and other marginalized groups: children and teenagers-the green generations of Vietnam 3) Put efforts to work for justice between generations, for equality between social groups in Vietnam. Major past experiences RECERD has successfully conducted and delivered more than 40 projects related to responsible fisheries and aquaculture in Vietnam. RECERD is one of leading organizations in providing consultancy services on community based fisheries co-management for Rockefeller (2012); and World Bank funded projects currently in 8 coastal provinces in Vietnam (2013-2015). Some importance primary partners are the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Foundation (SFP) in coordinating Fisheries Improvement Projects (FIP) for trawl fisheries in Mekong delta, RECERD has been supporting on tuna fishery improvementprojects in central coast of Vietnam. Recently, RECERD was funded by the US Embassy in Hanoi for the topic of #gender in fisheries project in Cat Ba island, Hai Phong province# in 2015; and land dispute issues in Nghe An province (2013). RECERD has strong partnership with some US based seafood companies to supporting sourcing of sustainable seafood from Vietnam.
