World Animal Protection (formerly known as WSPA) has been active in the field of animal welfare for over 35 years. Their aim is to protect animals around the world (Wild animals, animals in communities, livestock and animals in disaster situations). Theydo this by delivering immediate (emergency) assistance, raising awareness and lobbying for better laws and regulations. Together with supporters they put animal welfare on the agenda and work to ensure that animals are protected throughout the world.

World Animal Protection can provide specific knowledge and expertise in the area of ##(the mitigation of) animal welfare risks and animal welfare due diligence, with an international perspective and an eye for global trends and developments. This also tailored toinvestments and investments from the accumulated experience with the Business Benchmark for Farm Animal Welfare. Moreover, World Animal Protection takes experience from the participation in the Fair Money Guide. World Animal Protection has offices in Kenya, Thailand, India, China, Brazil, Costa Rica, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands - and from there it covers a substantial part of the world. Traditionally the organization works with local partners in dozensof countries and therefore has a close-knit network worldwide. As far as companies with large animal welfare risks are concerned that Dutch insurers invest in, it is expected that they will be based in particular in the US, Brazil, Europe (France, United Kingdom), China and Thailand. Not only does the organization have offices here, but often also contacts with these companies.
