Access For All (AFA) was originally founded in Southern Sudan working towards promoting the rights and respect of sexual minorities( LGBTIQ) in February 2016 by three LGBTIQ persons in South Sudan later moved to Uganda, due to the social Injustice, violence anddiscrimination faced by LGBTI persons in the region. The founder realized that urban LGBTI native and refugees faced heightened Gender Based Violence risks due to unmet multiple and complex social, economic and medical needs as well as intersecting oppressions based on race, ethnicity, nationality, language, sexual orientation and gender identity. This exacerbated due to the fact that humanitarian actors have no programs serving refugees in the cities and less concern has been taken to cater forLGBTI refugees. Moreover sex work and homosexuality is illegal in Uganda and the laws governing refugees are restrictive. Hence AFA was rebounded to contributeto the promotion of health rights and dignity of urban refugee sexual minorities groups in Uganda. AFA was born out of the need tobridge the missing link of the untapped potential, comparative advantage <(>&<)> strategic resourcefulness of g rural <(>&<)> peri-urban based young LGBTIQ in the struggle to work towards realizing a supportive policy and socialenvironment that enables rural <(>&<)> peri-urban based LGBTIQ to live free from human rights abuse in order to live healthy and productive lives in Uganda. At AFA webelieve in the resilience and capacity of LGBTI refugees to rebuild their lives in spite ofmany scarce resources and a lack of visibility. This project will support a community of LGBTI in Uganda to self-organize so they can provide for their families, become self-sufficient, and integrate in their local community. AFA Believes in equal opportunity for all and works on feminist principals. Yes, we believe gender diversity and participation in our group is important to the development of the organization and its mandate toachieve its goals and mission. ACHIEVEMENTS -We organised a fashionshow for World Refugee Day with UNHCR with LGBTI refugee youth, this was a very empowering event for our youth and they gained a lot of confidence to do more work in arts. -We have formed an LGBTI refugee football club that has participated in varioustournaments like the Kick for Equality campaign funded by Urgent Action Fundimplemented by GCWRU -Our LGBTI youth designers launched a 20-piece Gender Fluid fashion collection that was reproduced for Spring Summer 16/17 and 17/18 that sold out 2. INSTITUTIONAL PURPOSE The Vision: To envisage a peaceful world offering LGBTI Refugee youthan opportunity to participate in the socio-economic development decisions and activities in Uganda. Mission Statement: To influence and implement sustainable programsthat improve life basic needs for urban refugee#s LGBTI and women in Uganda and Contribute to the equality of the minority Mission: What is the current purpose of the organisation? To contribute towards the inclusion and integration of LGBTI youthin transformative leadership for change while strengthening support initiatives to curb unemployment and appropriately address the needs of the LGBTI youth to achieve their dreams and maintain their focus. Institutional objectives: What are the principalchanges the organisation seeks to achieve over the long term? To build capacity of refugee youth in entrepreneurship skills through Vocational training in shoe making, Tailoring and Jewellery Making for by 2024 in Wakiso district. We will promote the capacity of LGBTIQ Youth to be self-employed through life skill trainings in jewellery making, shoe making, tailoring and sewing. Participants will be awarded with certificates and basic start-up package at the end of the training. To advance refugeeyouth leadership through conducting leadership trainings for refugee youth by end of the 2021. The trainings will cover awareness on discriminationand human rights, advocacy with an aim to strengthen LGBTI Youth abilities to be leaders in their communitiesand increase their advocacy, capacity to access resources and build allies across ethnicities for Civic participation and community building.

General
Homosexuality is currently criminalized and socially stigmatized in Uganda. This places LGBTI youth in a marginalized position which makes it hard for them to be accepted in society and the workplace. This can cause low self-esteem, suicidal tendencies, violence, unemployment, unlawful terminations, gender-based violence and social marginalization. We hope to curb the unemployment issue by using non-formal education and vocational training of the LGBTI youth in the Central Region of Uganda. Access for All (AFA) is an NGO based in Uganda founded in 2016 working with Urban LGBTI refugee youth in the Central Region in Uganda. Access For All focuses on three key issues: advocacy, human rights and youth empowerment. Access For All works with Simma Africa Creative Arts Foundation (SACAF) and Africa Youth Action Network (AYAN) in the implementation of its projects. In addition to the employment obstacles faced by LGBTI refugee youth due to difference in education curriculum and language barrier, LGBTI youth also contend with policies surrounding their legal eligibility to work (NGO Act 2016 and the Penal Code Cap 120 on Naturalization). LGBTI youths are officially excluded from participating in Uganda#s formal economy. Moreover, some Ugandans believe that they are not supposed to employ sexual minorities since homosexuality is criminalized. Even with the right status and qualifications, it is still regarded morally wrong to hire them.Additionally, the unemployment rate of youth is high and discrimination is a significant problem that LGBTI refugee youth face due to ageism. Most organizations require specific education qualifications, marital status, job experience, age and connections which makes it almost impossible for LGBTI youth to secure jobs. For all of these reasons, the members of Access For Access (AFA), Simma Africa Creative Arts Foundation (SACAF) and Africa Youth Action Network (AYAN) formed a consortium to help empower LGBTI refugee youthwith employable skills like: Sewing, Shoe making, Photography, Fashion <(>&<)> Design and English Literacy. We hope to see a 60% increase in employment of LGBTI youth in Wakiso District. We also hope to see a 50% decrease in reports on cyber bullying among LGBTI youth after the project. The formation of the book club and literacy class will improve the language and communication among the LGBTI youth and help close the unemployment gap of LGBTI youth in the central region.
