Founded on April 08 2008, VACR is non-government organization working on the protection of child#s rights, with the mission to gather and unite Vietnamese individuals and organizations who voluntarily working for the purpose of making children enjoy all fundamental rights. Our six key mandates are: (1) Promoting advocacy and providing consultancy to improve capacity on child protection; (2) Participating in supervising, evaluating child rights implementation; (3) Formulating and implementing programs, projects# to protectchildren; (4) Carrying out cooperation research, training and information/experience sharing; (5) Mobilizing children#s voice and participation; and (6) Becoming focal point between INGO, CSOs and GO agencies.

Vietnam Association for Protection of Children's Rights (VACR) proposes the project "Improving access to justice for child victims of sexual abuse in Ha Noi" to pilot the model of communication in educating the community and to build capacity in judicialsupport for children and families who are victims of sexual abuse in Hanoi, served as the basis for nationwide replication. The project aims to strengthen the access to justice and legal assistance for children and families who are victims of sexual abusein Hanoi through 3main objectives. Objective 1: Awareness raising for the community on the procedure of handling, gathering evidence and requestingsupport and legal assistance for child sexual abuse cases. Objective 2: Capacity building for law enforcement support groups to protect children and families who are victims of sexual abuse in Hanoi, including people's assessors; police, procurators; lawyers, jurists, legal assistants; civil society organizations, the staff of National Child ProtectionHotline 111 and lecturers on law at schools; media; care centers for children. Objective 3: Increasing the access to legal advice and support for children and families whoare victims of sexual abuse in Hanoi. This project adopts a right-based approachby(1) awareness-raising and enhancing law enforcement; (2) assist victims in accessing justice, and (3) advocate for policy change.
