Target Groups
Our services are primarily aimed at potential applicants to the Commonwealth Scholarship programme, Scholars who are about to start their Scholarship, Alumni who have finished their Scholarship and have returned to their home country and are delivering their development goals.
Objectives
The British Council provides services to the CSC including; scheme promotion, pre departure briefings and alumni engagement. The objective is to enable customers to be aware of and understand the objectives of the programme, to help CSC scholars to be prepared so that they can maximise the opportunity oto study at a UK HEI and for and Alumni to have the support and networks to enable them to achieve their development goals and have meaningful impact.
General
The Commonwealth Scholarships Commission (CSC) provides the main UK Government scholarship scheme led by international development objectives. The CSC operates within the framework of the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP). The CSFP is an international programme under which Commonwealth countries offer scholarships and fellowships to citizens of other member states. The British Council and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) are the two bodies appointed to provide services to the CSC to enable the administration of the UK scheme. The British Council provides overseas services.
