Schutz des Managuasees (Kläranlage II)

The aim of the supplementary measure is to safeguard the sustainable operation of the wastewater treatment plant financed under the main measure (BMZ No. 1999 667 06). Supplementary investments will contribute to the continuous, ecologically and hygienically safe and economically efficient cleaning and disposal of the centrally collected wastewater of the city of Managua.The borrower is the Republic of Nicaragua, represented by the Ministry of Finance. The project is managed by Empresa Nicaragüense de Acueductos y Alcantarillados Sanitarios (ENACAL), a state water utility company.The cost of the investment of the complementary measure amounts to EUR 2,5 million, which is financed by at loan (with IDA terms). The additional own contribution of EUR 0,25 million from the Ministry of Finance of Nicaragua will be used for an operational and maintenance fund for the installed infrastructure. In addition, ENACAL will bear its own costs for the implementation unit as well as for any taxes on consulting services.

Beitrag zur kontinuierlichen, ökologisch und hygienisch unbedenklichen sowie betriebswirtschaftlich effizienten Reinigung und Entsorgung der zentral gesammelten Schmutzwässer der Stadt Managua.

Ziel der Ergänzungsmaßnahme ist die Absicherung des nachhaltigen Betriebs der im Rahmen der Hauptmaßnahme (BMZ-Nr. 1999 667 06) finanzierten Kläranlage. Über ergänzende Investitionen soll ein Beitrag zur kontinuierlichen, ökologisch und hygienisch unbedenklichen sowie betriebswirtschaftlich effizienten Reinigung und Entsorgung der zentral gesammelten Schmutzwässer der Stadt Managua geleistet werden. Darlehensnehmer ist die Republik Nicaragua, vertreten durch das Finanzministerium. Projektträger ist das staatliche Wasserversorgungsunternehmen (WVU) Empresa Nicaragüense de Acueductos y Alcantarillados Sanitarios (ENACAL).Die Kosten für die Investitionen der Ergänzungsmaßnahme belaufen sich auf 2,5 Mio. EUR, die über ein FZ-Haushaltsdarlehen (zu IDA-Konditionen) finanziert werden. Der ergänzende Eigenbeitrag des Finanzministeriums von Nicaragua i.H.v. 0,25 Mio. EUR wird für einen Betriebs- und Wartungsfonds der installierten Infrastruktur eingesetzt. Darüber hinaus übernimmt ENACAL mit eigenen Mitteln Kosten für die Durchführungseinheit sowie für anfallende Steuern auf Consultingleistungen.
