Ce projet soutient 2 756 placements de volontaires et vise à améliorer le bien-être économique et/ou social des personnes les plus pauvres, les plus marginalisées et les plus vulnérables, en particulier les femmes et les filles, en vue de contribuer aux objectifs de développement durable. En plus d'accroître la participation des Canadiennes et Canadiens à l'égard du développement international et des grands enjeux mondiaux, ce projet vise à accroître le rendement des partenaires des pays en développement afin d'offrir des initiatives de développement plus inclusives, novatrices et durables sur le plan environnemental qui favorisent l'égalité des genres. Ce projet vise également à renforcer les capacités grâce à des conseillers volontaires qui agissent comme mentors, conseillers ou accompagnateurs et deviennent des catalyseurs pour que les partenaires des secteurs de l'agriculture et du tourisme des pays participant au projet puissent réaliser leur plein potentiel. Les activités du projet comprennent : 1) fournir une assistance technique en matière de planification stratégique et de leadership pour promouvoir des pratiques novatrices qui favorisent l'inclusion, l'égalité des genres et l'émancipation économique des femmes; 2) fournir une assistance technique en matière de production, d'opérations, de contrôle de la qualité, de procédures financières, de gestion des ressources humaines, de service à la clientèle et de commercialisation pour promouvoir l'égalité des genres et l'émancipation économique des femmes; 3) fournir une assistance technique pour créer et/ou améliorer des processus, des politiques, des outils et des pratiques qui tiennent compte des sexospécificités; 4) organiser des événements et des campagnes pour informer les Canadiennes et Canadiens des enjeux du développement international et des possibilités de participation; 5) créer un fonds pour permettre aux partenaires d'acheter le matériel et les fournitures nécessaires à la mise en œuvre d'une innovation destinée à accélérer les résultats en améliorant la productivité, l'efficacité, les ventes et les revenus des groupes marginalisés et vulnérables, notamment les femmes.
This project supports 2 756 volunteer placements, and aims to improve the economic and/or social wellbeing of the poorest, most marginalized and vulnerable people, particularly women and girls, with a view to contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to increasing the participation of Canadians in international development and key global issues, this project aims to increase the performance of developing country partners to deliver more inclusive, innovative, and environmentally sustainable development initiatives that advance gender equality. This project also works to deliver capacity building through volunteer advisors who act as mentors, advisors or coaches, and become catalysts for partners in the agriculture and tourism sectors of the project countries to realize their full potential. Project activities include: (1) providing technical assistance in strategic planning and leadership to promote innovative practices that advance inclusiveness, gender equality, and women’s economic empowerment; (2) providing technical assistance in production, operations, quality control, financial procedures, human resources management procedures, customer service, and marketing to promote gender equality and women’s economic empowerment; (3) providing technical assistance to create and/or improve gender-sensitive processes, policies, tools and practices; (4) delivering events and campaigns to inform Canadians about international development issues and opportunities to get involved with these issues; and (5) establishing a fund for partners to procure equipment and supplies necessary to implement an innovation meant to accelerate results through improved productivity, efficiency, sales and income for marginalized and vulnerable groups, particularly women.

Parmi les résultats obtenus jusqu'en mars 2024: 1) réalisé 1 415 missions de volontariat. Cela a également permis de promouvoir l'égalité des genres auprès de 302 organisations dans 21 pays des Amériques, d'Asie, des Caraïbes, d'Afrique de l'Est et d'Afrique de l'Ouest. 96 % des bénéficiaires des projets ont fait état d'une amélioration de leur bien-être économique et social; 2) appuyé 514 conseillers volontaires qui ont apporté leur expertise dans les secteurs de l'agro-industrie, du tourisme, de la santé et de la nutrition, de l'agroforesterie et dans d'autres secteurs; 3) formé 50 810 personnes (60 % de femmes), ce qui a permis la mise en œuvre par les partenaires nationaux de 3 652 initiatives de développement plus innovantes, plus durables sur le plan environnemental et plus efficaces pour promouvoir l'égalité des genres, les droits humains et l'inclusion; 4) mobilisé 13 526 Canadiens (42 % de femmes) pour soutenir les efforts du Canada en matière de développement international par une action éclairée ou un engagement à long terme.
