Ce projet finance la section Développement professionnel et coopération internationale de la division Sécurité nucléaire de l'Agence internationale de l'énergie atomique (AIEA) afin de fournir un programme coordonné d'éducation et de formation qui réponde aux exigences des États membres.
This project provides funding to the Professional Development and International Cooperation section of the Nuclear Security division of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to provide a coordinated education and training program that meets the requirements of Member States.

Les résultats escomptés de ce projet comprennent : 1) soutien au Centre d'appui à la sécurité nucléaire (CASN) au Chili; 2) fourniture d'équipements de détection des radiations à l'Égypte et à la Malaisie; 3) évaluation des besoins des CASN au Mexique, au Maroc, aux Philippines et au Tadjikistan; 4) formation au soutien d'un CASN régional en Afrique du Nord.
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) supported the Nuclear Security Support Centre (NSSC) in Chile; (2) provided radiation detection equipment to Egypt and Malaysia; (3) conducted needs assessment for NSSCs in Mexico, Morocco, the Philippines and Tajikistan; and (4) provided training to support a North African regional NSSC.

Parmi les résultats obtenus jusqu'à la fin du projet (mars 2021) : 1) l'AIEA a organisé un atelier national sur l'analyse des besoins en ressources humaines et en formation dans le domaine de la sécurité nucléaire en avril 2016 au Chili; 2) elle a acheté une gamme d'équipements de détection des rayonnements en 2018 et 2020 pour le Centre égyptien de sécurité et de soutien nucléaires (NSSC); 3) en Malaisie, elle a acheté et livré un moniteur de portail de rayonnement au NSSC, un cours pilote de « formation des formateurs » pour les agents de première ligne sur la détection de la sécurité nucléaire a été élaboré en mai 2017 et a été convoqué pour les parties prenantes régionales en septembre 2017; 4) une mission d'experts pour discuter de l'élaboration d'un CNSS par le Mexique a eu lieu en mars 2017; 5) au Maroc, un atelier régional francophone sur la sécurité nucléaire a été organisé en octobre 2017 pour promouvoir la sensibilisation à la sécurité nucléaire et renforcer l'infrastructure de sécurité nucléaire dans les pays africains francophones; 6) au Tadjikistan, une mission d'experts sur l'amélioration de son CNSS a eu lieu en avril 2016.
Results achieved as of the end of the project (March 2021) include: (1) the IAEA conducted a National Workshop on Human Resource and Training Needs Analysis in the Area of Nuclear Security in April 2016 in Chile; (2) procured a range of radiation detection equipment in 2018 and 2020 for the Egyptian Nuclear Security and Support Centre (NSSC); (3) in Malaysia, purchased and delivered a radiation portal monitor to the NSSC, a pilot “train the trainers” course for front line officers on nuclear security detection was developed in May 2017 and was convened for regional stakeholders in September 2017; (4) an expert mission to discuss Mexico's development of a NSSC took place in March 2017; (5) in Morocco, a French-language regional workshop on nuclear security was held in October 2017 to promote awareness of nuclear security and to enhance nuclear security infrastructure in Francophone African countries; and (6) in Tajikistan, an expert mission on enhancing its NSSC took place in April 2016.
